Welcome to the Student Peer Support and Guidance Program!
Starting university is as much an exciting new step as it is a source of new questions.
The "Yol Arkadaşım" (My Companion) Student Peer Support and Guidance Program was created to help newly enrolled students at the Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Dentistry easily adapt academically, socially, and professionally.
In this program, volunteer senior students share their experiences with new students to support their adaptation to faculty life.
What Does the Program Offer You?
Supports you in adapting to faculty and campus life more easily.
Offers shared experiences regarding courses, laboratories, and the educational process.
Makes it easier to access accurate information about faculty practices and student life.
Strengthens your sense of belonging by helping you expand your social circle.
Directs you to the right academic and administrative units when needed.
Who Can Join?
Mentors: Volunteer 3rd, 4th, and 5th-year students
Mentees: Newly enrolled 1st-year students at our faculty
How Does the Program Work?
Under the program, each mentor is matched with a specific number of new students. Throughout the academic year, mentors guide students through their adaptation to faculty life, share their experiences, and direct them to the right resources whenever needed.
Remember!
Your mentor:
Is not a faculty member.
Does not replace your academic advisor.
Does not give private lessons for exam preparation.
Your mentor is a "Companion" who listens to you, shares their experiences, and stands by your side in faculty life.
We learn together, we grow stronger together.
Join the "Yol Arkadaşım" family today!
For applications and detailed information, you can contact the Faculty Dean's Office or the Student Affairs Office.
